Ram 1500 Lowering Links Fitment Guide

Which Ram 1500 Models Are Compatible?

Ram 1500 lowering links are designed specifically for trucks equipped with factory air suspension systems. These systems use ride height sensors to control vehicle height, which allows adjustable lowering links to safely recalibrate the suspension and achieve a lower stance.

If your Ram 1500 is equipped with factory air ride suspension, lowering links provide a simple and effective way to reduce ride height while maintaining factory ride comfort and system functionality.

If your truck does not have air suspension, lowering links will not be compatible.

DS vs DT Ram 1500 Fitment Explained

Understanding the difference between DS and DT models is important when determining compatibility.

DS Models (2013–2018 + 2019 Classic)

The DS platform includes Ram 1500 trucks from 2013 through 2018, along with the 2019 “Classic” models that continued production using the same body style. These trucks may be equipped with factory air suspension, making them fully compatible with lowering links.

DT Models (2019–Present)

The DT platform refers to the newer generation Ram 1500 introduced in 2019. These trucks feature updated suspension geometry and design, but still offer factory air suspension on select trims.

Lowering links are compatible with DT models that are equipped with air ride suspension and are designed to maintain proper geometry across both platforms.

Does Your Ram 1500 Have Air Suspension?

Before purchasing lowering links, it is important to confirm that your truck is equipped with factory air suspension.

You can check by looking for the following:

• Ride height adjustment settings in the dashboard controls
• Multiple suspension modes such as Entry/Exit, Normal, and Off-Road
• A visible air compressor system or air lines in the suspension
• Factory options listed as “Air Ride Suspension”

If your truck has adjustable ride height settings, it is equipped with air suspension and is compatible with Ram lowering links.

Compatible Model Years

Lowering links are compatible with the following Ram 1500 models equipped with factory air suspension:

• 2013 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2014 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2015 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2016 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2017 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2018 Ram 1500 (DS)
• 2019 Ram 1500 Classic (DS)
• 2019 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2020 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2021 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2022 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2023 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2024 Ram 1500 (DT)
• 2025 Ram 1500 (DT)

Compatibility depends on the presence of factory air suspension, not just the model year.

Non-Compatible Models

Lowering links are not compatible with Ram 1500 trucks that use traditional coil spring suspension.

These models do not use ride height sensors in the same way as air suspension systems and cannot be adjusted using lowering links.

If your Ram 1500 does not have adjustable ride height settings, lowering links will not work.

DT year model links will NOT fit DS year model links, confirm compatibility first.

How Lowering Links Work With Air Suspension

Lowering links function by changing the relationship between the suspension and the ride height sensors. By adjusting the length of the link, the system interprets the vehicle as sitting higher than it actually is, causing the suspension to lower the truck to compensate.

This method allows the vehicle to sit lower while keeping the factory air suspension system fully operational.

Because the factory components remain unchanged, ride quality, suspension travel, and comfort are preserved.

The simple installation steps are outlined in our installation guide.

DS and DT Compatibility in One Kit

A properly designed lowering link kit is engineered to work across both DS and DT platforms with correct geometry and fitment.

This means one kit can be used on multiple Ram 1500 model years, provided the vehicle is equipped with factory air suspension.

This simplifies installation and ensures consistent performance regardless of generation.

Common Fitment Questions

  • Lowering links only fit models equipped with factory air suspension. They are not compatible with coil spring suspension setups.

  • Check for ride height adjustment settings inside the vehicle. If your truck can raise or lower itself, it has air suspension.

  • Yes. Lowering links are designed to work on both DS and DT Ram 1500 platforms when equipped with air suspension. But, they are not compatible. Please, confirm fitment before purchasing.

  • No. When properly installed, lowering links work within the factory system and do not damage suspension components.

  • Yes. Lowering links are fully adjustable and can be returned to factory settings at any time.
